Problemi e prospettive
The book presents the Italian version of a now classic study by Javier Garrido, a Basque Franciscan well known in Europe for his research in the formative field. Francis' life is reinterpreted as a progressive itinerary that starts from the concreteness of his humanity, free from the "ideological" interpretations superimposed already from the first biographies of the saint.
The numerous biographical data on the life of the saint are connected with his writings, so as to find a passage towards the authentic inner experience of Francis. As the author says: "It is a way that has not yet been sufficiently explored".
This is a necessary effort so that the figure of Francis does not remain imprisoned in a sterile past, but can continue to show his provocative relevance.
JAVIER GARRIDO is a Basque friar minor (Franciscan) , graduated in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Friborg (CH). He teaches in theological institutes and animates various groups of Christian spirituality, taking serious care of the personal accompaniment especially of adults. He is the author of numerous books and publications.
