Annotazioni sul Cantico di frate Sole
The Cantico di frate Sole, composed by St. Francis almost at the end of his life, in a period of heavy physical and moral suffering, appears as the song of a Christian who loves the whole universe and all its elements, embraces them as brothers, exalts their beauty and together with them raises a praise worthy of him to the "highest, almighty and good Lord". Carlo Dallari, a Franciscan, invites us in his study to follow Francis of Assisi on his journey of reconciliation and pacification with God, with his brothers and with creatures. We thus discover how false the mentality that sees man as the omnipotent ruler of creation, while we are invited to accept the biblical vision that makes us fraternal guardians of creation and of every creature.
CARLO DALLARI is a Friar Minor (Franciscan), specialized in Ecumenical Theology, professor at the Theological Study of St. Anthony of Bologna, author of numerous publications.
